We use the sail as awning for our vintage camper. We get it altered at a boat reupholster shop for very minimal fee. Owned last sail for 5 years before showing signs of wear. Cleans real easy. We have designed a system so it can become unclipped from 2 poles when rain or significant wind In forecast. It is water resistant so needs to be lowered or will result in damage to poles.I bought this to cover most of my deck. Does ok. Product is very durable. It just doesn’t appear to be the right solution for what I need. I do not have the set up to get the angles correct for water to run off. 6’ of drop and it still pools up on the shade. Patio Paradise was very accommodating during my process. I highly recommend them and their products.It’s a very nice fabric. It’s very durable. But it’s really a glorified tarp and NOT a sun shade. The primary difference being that it’s entirely impervious to water flow which makes it entirely unsuitable for storms (unless you have some very specific and uneven Mount points).I did the very best that I could to install it at a sufficient enough slope to allow water to run off. I even shimmied a good 25’ up my pecan tree to create an anchor point.You can see in my photo that it didn’t matter. It still filled entirely with water in a storm eventually snapping the cables and crashing down.It’s a really nice tarp, but probably not what you are meaning to search for based on it’s title.Ropes fray badly and quickly when cut. Can be melted, but retain heat a longish time so burn fingers. Cloth does not allow water transfer through it so water will collect and pool when it rains unless cloth is tilted fairly sharply.I used the cover for additional shade on the patio. It is very nice and top quality with double stitching. My only suggestion is it should have another set of grommets for the longer side. I live in a high wind area and would like the additional grommets for strength during those high winds. It is otherwise easy to remove and install.Just put it up, so time will tell. But so far we love it. Seems to be durable.So the delivery and all was good , package was in good condition. Opened it two days after I got it when I got home and went to install. As we are unfolding it we are seen yellow tape along the edges. Figured it was just there for the shipping. All looks good so we install it. Then we go to remove the yellow tape and we find out why there was yellow tape. Everywhere there was yellow tape the Sewing was damaged the thread is all bunched up coming out and it’s all along the edges and stuff like that. Unfortunately I have no time to return it so we will see if it lasts. This is becoming a big problem with Amazon. More and more of what is ordered is broken, what I would call a second or just does not fit.Durable and water resistant.
